I wish you all a Merry Christmas, filled with quality time spent with the people you love. It’s not about the gifts for me. It’s about the gift of baby Jesus and salvation. Christmas has become so commercialized that people lose sight of the reason for the season.
I prefer to spend a simple day with my family, and just feeling blessed by having them in my life. There are no material items that could give that joy. However, this year we are making room in the family room for a hammock stand, and the gift or relaxation for the family will bring much joy for years to come!
My C hammock stand stands lonely on my patio, amidst the leaves left from the fall. They are packed in tight around it.
It is accompanied by left-over pots of long-dead annuals and an overturned wheelbarrow. A typical sight here in early spring, but I need to begin showing my patio some love today!
There are piles of snow in my backyard, thanks to Stella. I always liked that name, but at the moment, not so much! The warm weather earlier this month and last, although unseasonal, it had me ready for spring early this year!
Then, bam, a huge snow storm came along, and now my Algoma hammock stand is bare once again! I actually had a hammock in it a couple times this month! So, now, I am just praying for sunshine and warmer weather to melt these piles of snow away. On a positive note, it should make a beautiful green lawn this spring!
We had a spring-like stretch of warm weather that was lovely! I was out hiking in the woods and hanging out in my hammock chair stand on my patio. It spoils you and makes it hard for winter return and I also pray that the farmer’s crops don’t suffer from it. However, I decided to just be thankful for it and enjoy every minute I could, and that is exactly what I did!
So, I am looking at it as a preview of what is to come…hopefully soon! I am trying to enjoy every minute. My arc hammock stand was still sitting out in my back yard, all lonely, without a hammock. So, I went in the garage and dug one out to lay in for a while. It was awesome!
I don’t even necessarily like football, I don’t completely understand it, and I had to look up who was even playing! But I am excited about the Superbowl tonight! I have a handful of fun appetizers prepared and am looking forward to seeing Lady Gaga perform the half time performance!
I know it will be spectacular, as is everything she does..what a lot of talent she has! I will have the TV on the whole time, for the commercials, of course. But while the game is on, I will be snacking and reading, in my hammock chair stand!
If you give them a hammock stand set, it makes it so easy for them! No need to find trees or posts to hook to. The only decision is where to put it to enjoy it the most!
One of my old favorite movies is Freaky Friday. Tonight, being Friday, seems like a perfect night to watch it! Of course, though, I may have to suffer through at least one of the Friday the 13th movies with my son also, because, after all, it is an appropriate day that too!
i wish I still had my wooden hammock stand in my family room, but I moved it out for other furniture. This way I could snooze through the scary movies!
I often remember that song, Manic Monday, by The Bangles. Sometimes Mondays feel that way, with lots to do, and catch up on on. However, mostly, I try to keep my Mondays as a stay-at-home day. This entails regrouping after a weekend, which includes some housework and paperwork.
I also like to cook a nice meal, big enough for some leftovers, for lunches. So, my Mondays are a bit busy, but in a good way. Then I like to reward myself with some time in my hammock chair stand. It’s a great start to my week!
