Green Eggs and Hammocks was founded by Ben Lee in Lubbock, Texas in 1997. They developed their own unique products and had them patented. One very cool item is the trailer hitch stand. This is perfect for so many outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hunting, and possibly the most favorite, tailgating!

Another item that is so unique is the Palapa Relaxation Station, a modern alternative to the stand table and umbrella set, this piece actually holds six hammock chairs! Over the years people have come to know the catchy name as the maker of  unique, high quality products.

Hammock Chair To Brighten Up The Shade

I just bought myself a new orange Key West hammock chair! Orange is one of my favorite colors, and not just in the fall, either, although this is typically a fall color. I have some beautiful orange daisies and I have been enjoying the orange lilies everywhere right now.

I placed my new chair under the trees and the shade is quite dense right now, as the branches are barely trimmed for this effect of a secret hideaway under the trees. I noticed my hammock chair peeking out through the otherwise darkness this evening. It really brightens up the space! Not to mention, it is one of my favorite places to sit and enjoy looking at the perennial garden nearby.

I love the summer evenings. Even if the daytime is hot and steamy, the nights are often so comfortable and pretty. I assume I enjoy it more this time of year because I can stay outside longer. I enjoy the sun setting, and then dusk, as the fireflies come out to make a million little lights.

I have a beautiful view from my hammock chair as I swing lightly from my hammock chair stand. Soon the nighttime chorus will start! The tree frogs across the fields, the crickets, and soon the katydids will start their music! Once the locust come, it is quite a loud concert! All the beautiful sounds you never need a CD or an iPod to hear.  Try to notice and stop to enjoy these moments that are special (and free).

Monday Afternoon Nap

Bliss Hammocks quilted hammockI personally feel that the Sunday afternoon nap is overrated. After all, it is on the weekend when most people have off work anyway. In fact, it is my second day off from my work.

So, I am starting to think that the Monday afternoon nap is the new Sunday nap! My first day back to work after a weekend of doing what I want to do. Then Monday morning, the harsh reality, it’s back to work for me. Monday afternoon when I get home, that’s when I want a nap! I head out back to my  quilted hammock and take a much needed nap! It is so comfortable! Now I am ready to face the rest of the week!

Hammock On The Lake

One of my favorite places to be, especially in the summer, is at the lake house. I enjoy the swimming, the boating, and just the peaceful serenity of the water. Most people love to be near the water because of the tranquility it provides.

I can just lay in one of my favorite rope hammock near the water and look out across it for hours. Other times, I read fishing books or magazines, looking for new ways to find and land fish. I’m always hoping to catch “the big one”, just like all fishermen!

I was sitting in my hammock chair today, under the tress, in the shade. I was reading a new book and all stretched out, so comfortable. But I wanted to have a cold drink too! But where could I put it without knocking it over, or leaning half way out of the chair?

I remembered that I had a drink cooler that I hadn’t even opened! This has to be one of the greatest  hammock accessories ever made! I looped it around the spreader bar and I put a cold can in it! The cooler kept it cold for me! It was hanging right in my reach and I was “happy as a clam” once again!

The Outback Chair Company has a very cool and unique swinging hammock chair called the Urban Balance Cove. It is from the Urban Balance collection, a collection of very modern, upscale items for the home and patio or outdoors. These items lend a unique style to any setting, inside or out.

This big hanging chair is so comfy, you can curl up and relax in it. It comes with cushions covered with Sunbrella fabric to withstand the elements and prevent fading. The frame is epoxy coated aluminum wrapped in weather resistant wicker. It reminds me of a giant bird’s nest and I like that it resembles nature. I think a bird lover would definitely appreciate this unique hammock chair!

A Black-Tie Hammock

This quilted hammock,in a classic black stripe, is a very professional looking hammock to me. This would dress up any patio or deck. I think that special man would like it.

I secretly think it could be a formal hammock for a black tie event. I picture people lying around a very in all these hammocks in very beautifully manicured grounds. They all have formal attire like tuxedos and ballroom gowns. It is a funny daydream that this regal looking hammock brings to mind when I see it.

Gaucamole!

I love this particular Bliss Hammocks travel hammock. The colors remind me of a Mexican fiesta. The name of it is Guacamole. I love guacamole and all Mexican food. I have purchased packaged guacamole but I am always disappointed with it. I have found that the best is to just make it myself. Here is the recipe:

Peel and scoop out an avocado and mash. Mince 1/4  of a red onion. Add a little lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
