The weather and wind was perfect for kite flying. The wind is always better for kites here then at home. Maybe it is the ocean? One thing better at home though is my Outer Banks Hammocks rope hammock, waiting for me on the patio!
Any one of them would be thrilled to just a fly a kite! I was actually able to catch a short swing in a swinging hammock chair on the porch of the kite loft while watching a few kite competitions!
I just love sitting on the beach anytime, as long as it isn’t raining or snowing! I just dress accordingly! My husband likes to sit in a butterfly chair because they sit up higher in the sand, and are much easier to get out of!
I only miss my hammock while away. It would be nice to string up a portable hammock on the balcony but the management will not be impressed, I think?
It’s soon time to start thinking of getting the pool open! I am anxiously awaiting that day!
I am going to curl up in my Outback Chair Co Urban Balance Cove before the pool is actually open because I can’t wait any longer. It is one of my favorite hammock swings!
It was the perfect day to slip one of my backpacking hammocks into my backpack and hit the trail. I rode for a couple hours, it just felt so good!
Then I found a nice quiet hollow, off the trail, and strung up my hammock for a little snooze. When I woke up, it was lunchtime! Luckily, I had that along too.
We are doing the dreaded job of putting a fresh coat of stain on the patio this spring. We always want to, then the leaves pop out so quickly it is a futile attempt, as the breeze blows around all the the new leaf buds on the patio before it dries!
This year we got one nice coat on, but wanted to do another, when the leaves popped. Now, the wooden hammock stand is sitting bare in the yard, waiting for us to finish our project so that it can have its special place on the patio!
So, yesterday I mentioned how I am trading doing things with my teenager son. He is going to be running, walking, and biking with me, or say he says, if I go to see some movies, mostly scarey, which I am afraid of, with him. Well, I feel I got off lucky last evening. We saw The Host.
I actually enjoyed it and it wasn’t too scarey, but in it’s own way it was. It made me feel glad for the freedom to just go to the movies, then come home and hang out in my hammock chair stand, without hiding from “seekers”!
My youngest boy wants me to watch scarey movies with him, and I don’t like them. So I said why doesn’t he do things I like to do?
After all, it’s not really all about him, even though he thinks it is! So, he went for a walk and run with me on the trail this afternoon. We even took our dog. Of course, later, he was laying in the macrame hammock, as if he was tired! Kids are funny! Oh, no…now I owe him a movie!
I love Saturdays! My boys are home from school and we can sleep in a bit. That is exactly what I did this morning. Then I woke to brilliant sunshine! It was quite chilly today when the wind blew, but I will take the sunshine, appreciatively.
I had a wonderful run on the bike trail. Just a bit jealous of the bikers out there, though. I miss my bike! I need to ride soon! Then I spent some quality time in my hammock chair, pondering about a long bike ride soon. A great day!
