I have always been a big fan of hammocks. My parents have always had hammocks and I have always had one since I have owned a house. Growing up with a hammock has a lot of memories for me. My parents always had the cotton rope hammock which is very strong and keeps the person on the hammock cooler in the summer. I prefer the fabric cotton hammock.
I like the cotton because it is breathable, soft and strong. I prefer the fabric cotton hammock over the rope hammock because I can put pen down next to me and it stays there. I can remember having to get up alot to retrieve my pencil while doing homework on my parents’ rope hammock.
My old small Toyota finally gave up the fight and I had to send it to the scrap yard. Right after that I purchased a pickup truck and I have been having fun finding out what I can do with the pickup that I could not do with my previous car.
Besides the normal hualing advantages we purchased a trailer hitch stand with chairs and we have been going to the lake and sitting in our hammock chairs enjoying the afternoon. I don’t have to carry blankets or anything to sit on, we only need the trailer hitch stand!
It makes me wish I could write such a clever, imaginative novel that could be made into a famous movie. I would sit in my swinging hammock chair, with my laptop, and write one. Well, for now, though, maybe I will just read the book!
The snow is very beautiful this winter. It has been hanging around on the yards and fields for weeks…until this weekend. The sun is out and the temperature is in the 50’s. If this keeps up for long, all that snow will melt away.
Yes, it was a pretty winter, but do I care if it all goes away? No! I say..take it all! Show us the green, stay warm, and I can sit my wooden hammock stand out in the yard!
I heard that families across America are trading in their bed for a hammock and hammock stand. I recently decided to buy a new bed and could not believe the prices that I was seeing. What happened with the cost of beds and mattresses?
I checked some measurements and found that the hammock stand will take the same amount of space as the bed and frame but about one third the cost. I already had a hammock in the garage, I am looking for a hammock stand now.
It is too bad that parents of newborns have so much more information with the 2nd child. We just had our 2nd and I find that I do not need that expensive rocking chair because the quilted hammock is much better.
I tied a rope to the tree that allows me to rock the quilted hammock while I have the baby on my chest. It is soothing for him and for me. What a bonus. Makes me wonder what else I could substitute!
You can imagine how surprised I was when I took the kids to a new friends house and I saw how much the kids loved the hammock chair in her backyard. They were back there for hours swinging together, taking turns and even reading. I found a great hammock chair and stand online and I put it into the den. The kids love to do their homework in the chair.
I like to trout fish on the first day it comes in mid April. I get up before the crack of dawn to get my favorite spot to start the day. Then I hang around in my trailer hitch stand, on the back of my truck, waiting until morning! I can’t wait!
This is Valentine’s Day! The day we show the people we love that we do love them! Some go over the top with lavish gifts, while others do something simple. The best gift, in my opinion, is the gift of love itself.
Unselfish, unconditional love, now that’s true love, because sometimes we are all not loveable. This year, it was a lunch of sushi with my husband. This was to avoid the evening crowd. Then a quiet evening watching a fun, romantic movie, snuggled in a hammock!
Yes, it is a bit deceiving, bright sun on a wintery, cold day. It makes me think I can go hang my macrame hammock. Then I open the door and get the cold blast… a reminder that we are still in the grips of winter..but the sun makes me smile anyways!
