I think the spring colors are such a welcome sight right now! I went to a garden center today and enjoyed all the brightly colored pots and watering cans, planted with beautiful spring flowers. They had bright colored chairs on display outside.
I may go back for one that matches my bright Brazilian hammock. It would be pretty in the back yard, and hopefully, I can actually use it soon!
I love getting my trailer hitch stand out and putting it on the back of my truck. I hang out in my hammock chair, at my favorite fishing hole, in the wee hours of the morning, before daylight, until I can start the first day of trout season! My wife thinks I might be crazy, but how is this any different from Black Friday for her..??
So, I had a very lazy day in the house. I did not step foot outside…I am rebelling! I watched a movie, sat and read in my hammock chair, in my cozy little library, and even took a nap in it! I know I would never do this if it was pretty outside so I will just appreciate a relaxing day for what it was, instead of being grouchy about the weather!
I don’t care if it’s late, actually, because the pretty blooms are great in the spring too! But I will read about this just to educate myself, as I take a rest in my Bliss Hammocks hammock chair, this afternoon.
I am also planting some under one of my maple trees so that I can enjoy them from my quilted hammock. Pansies like cold weather, so by the time the leaves on the trees are out, they will have shade in the warmer days. Mine will last pretty long into summer this way, if it’s not too hot!
It snowed in NYC this same week of spring the last two years. I know this, because I was there, on a trip, expecting spring weather! I didn’t make that mistake again this year, so I am planning an early summer trip.
The trees in central park will be fully clothed in their leaves by then. I would love to take a folding hammock along and just hang out in it, people watching! I could do that all day!
Today is the first day of spring, officially this evening at 6:45, per the news. But old man winter is having trouble letting go! He’s sending us snow today, to the tune of possibly 5 inches! He’s going out in style, I suppose, not one bit afraid to wear out his welcome!
I have enjoyed some of his work this year, a few beautiful snows that stayed on the hills and fields for long periods. That was due to the cold temperatures he gave us this winter. I also enjoyed doing some winter hiking for the first time since I was a kid. But, I am ready to say goodbye to you for now, Mr Winter. I am ready to uncover my lonely hammock stand and start using it again!
St Patrick’s day originated in the 17th century, as a Christian feast holiday. Also, to note, that Lenten restrictions were lifted for the day, thus promoting it as a holiday for celebration, involving alcohol consumption.
Today, we continue to celebrate the Irish. Green being a color of Ireland, we wear green and display shamrocks on this holiday. But, I do not feel like going out to celebrate today, so I think I am just going to drink green beer in a green hammock today and call it St Patrick’s Day!
It’s coming, it’s coming…spring! I am super excited, to say the least. However, I am always anxious to get out in my yard and flowerbeds and work, yet it is usually a bit too early around here, muddy, etc.
But, I will do my best to get started on the spring season of gardening. I also will hang a cotton hammock up on the first day of spring, regardless of the weather! Hopefully, I will be able to use it, if even for a moment.
Sure, enough, I see grass out in my backyard! What a beautiful sight this morning as I am making the coffee! Now, all I need to see is a robin out there and my day would already be complete by 9 am! This gives me an excited feeling , I think it’s called “spring fever”!
In fact, I am going to go out to the garage to look at my new globo swing chair in the box, just for the excitement of it! I am planning on getting much use of it, and I suppose I will have to share it with the family!
