Parleys Island Passage Poppy hammock chairHere it is, the last day of August already. As I sit here in one of my Pawleys Island hammock swings, listening to the bug chorus, I’m feeling the end of summer upon me.

I will miss the summer nights, especially the night sounds, and the long days. I am going to try to enjoy every day before summer slips into fall!

Byer Moskito Kakoon HammockWell, my air conditioner unit picked a weekend, and a hot one at that, to take a break! I have to admit I’m not happy about that. But, luckily, it is cooler outside tonight than in the house.

So, I decided to camp out! I strung up my Byer Moskito hammock, and told the family if anyone needs me, they can find me out in the backyard, under the maple trees, cool as a cucumber, and safe from the bugs!

Pawleys Island rope hammockLast night was a “blue moon”, the second full moon in July! It hasn’t happened since 2012. The next time will be in 2018.

I am happy I got to see it, but it wasn’t blue? Ha! But it was huge and bright and beautiful! I laid on my rope hammock admiring it and enjoying the night sounds until very late in the evening. That was my big Saturday “night out”!
