I’m heading to the beach! I love the weekend I spend with my Mom in Cape May, NJ. It’s special time that I treasure and I want to do this as long as we can. It’s nice to just spend time chatting and catching up.
We are staying at an old historic hotel with rocking chairs on the porch. I love rocking and looking at the ocean, while sipping a glass of wine. The only thing better would be possibly hanging out in hammock swings, but I will just be happy for what we have.
What on earth is that whistling noise? Oh, no, they are putting a warning across the TV for severe thunderstorms!
It’s always a bit scary to me, especially at night. What if a tornado would come at night while we are sleeping? Of course, all of us being safe is the most important thing. But I want all of my hammock swings to be safe too!
Okay, yesterday was a very nice day. I enjoyed my family and the time we shared together. I also enjoyed the food! Yum! However, the food has settled and now I am just feeling like I have a food hangover!
In fact, I’m afraid that my knotted hammock chair is going to stretch to the ground today! I absolutely have to get out and get some exercise later today. It should be a good day to try to get to get rid of this sluggish feeling, and I am definitely going to be eating some leafy greens today!
The beautiful weather we had today gave me a case of spring fever! It was so nice and sunny and warm! Even the air smelled like spring? I’m not sure why, there were no flowers blooming yet! I think it was in my head.
Regardless, it was a perfect day to get one of my hammock swings out and hang it up under the deck. I am starting the countdown now…11 days until spring!
I want to go for a nice run but I am having trouble getting out the door. I just want to stay in and hang out in my knotted hammock chair, but I do love running, and I know how good it will make me feel. It’s just that blasted, cold wind…
So, this year I bought her a new hammock chair! She will put it out on her patio, overlooking her flowers, and close enough to smell her lilies. I hope she will enjoy her spring and summer in her new special reading spot!
Goodbye 2012, welcome 2013. We would all being doing ourselves a favor, myself included, if we made one of our top resolutions to relax more this year! It is better for our health and our happiness. It all starts with one simple decision to say, “I am going to take better care of myself this year. I am taking at least a few minutes every day just for me.”
It isn’t as much the length of time as the daily practice of doing it. Get yourself a hammock chair, start with that, because it is winter in half of the country, and this can fit in the house, if necessary. Find a spot in your home for it, possibly clearing out a spot, which will also give you satisfaction, then hang that chair, and start “hanging out” every day!
Today is a rainy and gloomy day outside the windows. However, as part of my plan to just enjoy the holiday season, I am staying indoors today. I am lighting some holiday candles to make it cozy and playing Christmas music all day.
I am going to wrap presents so that my teenagers don’t find their gifts, as I am listening to music, and happy for my home. It is the little things that we take for granted, that can bring much happiness. For instance, just hanging around in my swinging hammock chair, enjoying the beauty of our Christmas tree.
I enjoy the holiday season the best when I don’t allow myself to get caught up in the “hustle bustle” of the season. It can happen if I am not careful. Of course, I want to give meaningful gifts to the ones I love. However, it is important for me to remember that the reason I celebrate Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
If I keep that foremost in my mind, I can enjoy the season more, and take more time to relax in my hammock chair, and less time trying to get the perfect gift! The perfect gift we can give, regardless of how we celebrate the holidays, or our religion, is always to give love, above all else.
Oh, my, we are watching the news of a huge storm coming up the East coast this week! We started our preparations yesterday of removing and securing all of the outdoor furniture. This included each hammock chair hanging from the tress, plus a couple of hammocks.
I am a little sad, as I know this is the end of the outdoor season with them, because it will start getting colder, and we will not get them back out until spring. The season was cut a bit short with an early storm, but I am glad they are stored away, safe and dry, in the garage!
