Hammock tree strapsWhat a windy day it was today! Everything not anchored down was flying around my back yard today!

Today was a good test for my hammock straps, and I am happy to say that they passed the test! That hammock was whipping around, but it stayed right between the two trees it was strapped to!

Hammock tree strapsI have been talking a lot about camping this week. It’s actually one of my favorite things to do! I feel more relaxed and at peace when I am out in nature. I like the sounds and the smells of the woods.

I use my hammock straps to hang my hammock in the perfect spot. I can just hang out for hours listening to the sounds in the woods.

Hammock tree strapsAs I was camping last weekend, I was once again, appreciative of my hammock tree straps. They make such an easy task of hanging a hammock between two trees!

They are portable and pack easily. The best part is in a few minutes, you can be swinging in your hammock, enjoying life!

Camping In The Rain

Amazonas RainFly in meadow-LI love to go camping, and I always say, in any weather, I will still go. However, one of the days last weekend was a challenge. It poured for hours!

We were dry in the tent, but for an afternoon siesta…after all, what else was there to do..I climbed into my travel hammock and slid under my Byer rain fly. I was dry and cozy, and I have to admit, I slept like a baby!

Rainy Day

Amazonas RainFly in meadow-LWell, the weather hasn’t held out for  my buddies and I this weekend. We have plans to go to our fishing camp today and hang out together. We weren’t actually fishing yet, just doing some work around the camp, outdoors and in, and, of course, some grilling and a fire pit.

Then we all do whatever we feel like…hiking, napping, etc. I believe I may take my rain fly, though, just in case I feel like a nap outside in my travel hammock. My Byer of Maine rain fly will keep me warm and dry if this weather doesn’t clear up!

Freaky Friday

lake williamsFreaky Friday is one of my favorite movies! Today was a Freaky Friday, but not in the way of the movie, but in the way of the weather! First it was cloudy, then sunny, then windy, then still, then gusty.

It was a great day for a hike around the lake. The trees are still bare, so the views of the water are still beautiful. I wonder if anyone would mind if I just hung up one of my travel hammocks with a pair of hammock straps, overlooking the lake!

Hiking In The Rain

Travel hammockWell, it rained on our hiking day, so my hiking buddy and I opted for a detour to the trail: shopping and lunch! After all, we can “hike” around from shop to shop, then to a restaurant!

The rain finally stopped. But it was so windy and gloomy, and I ate too much for lunch, that, truthfully all I really felt like doing was stringing up one our camping hammocks and taking a nap!

An Early Spring

I am just praying for an early spring! I know we have had it easier than some areas, but it seems every other day there is a chance of snow or a wintry mix, better known as a “wintry mess”! These are the days I especially dream of an early spring! I miss the colors, smells, and beauty of spring. I miss my rope hammock on my patio!

I will be out as early as possible this year. I will use one of my best hammock accessories: hammock pads, on my hammock for extra warmth in the early spring when there is still a little nip in the air! If I have to, I will even bring a blanket out with me! I just can’t wait! Hurry, spring!

A Walk In The Snow

I took my puppy outside for a walk in the snow today. The snow was only a few inches, but he is little, so he looked like he was plowing through it! So cute!

We walked out to the end of the yard, past the empty tree where we sat in the hammock chair this summer. Now it looks lonely with only one of the hammock accessories hanging there…just waiting for spring, to be useful again!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANow that it is January I have made a resolution to try to get things ready early. For example, I won’t wait until people are arriving to check and see if I have charcoal for the barbecue. This also includes things like checking a reservation for a hotel or campsite. Do it ahead of time!

One thing that I know I have a problem with every summer is finding the hammock accessories when it is time to hang the hammock. Without the hammock accessories I am not able to start enjoying the hammock. I put them away every year thinking this is a good place to put for the winter. But then every spring I cannot remember where that good place is! This year I will look early.
