My favorite hammock is the cacoon tent! It hangs under my trees in the shade and I feel like I could spend all day in there! I do believe I am going to need to add another, however, because everyone else in the family feels the same way!
Well I hope everyone had a nice Easter day, spent the way you like to spend Easter. For me, it was a day of coffee and candy for breakfast, because, hey, it is Easter, and there is all this candy around!
Then morning church, then an afternoon with family for an nice meal, then, of course, more candy! The Easter bunny did not bring me the new cacoon hanging tree tent as I had hoped (cheapskate!), but hopefully I will get lucky for Mother’s Day!
I walked into the house and I saw the coolest thing…a Cacoon hanging chair! It was hanging in the family room, and I thought “Wow! I’ve never seen anything quite like this”! I have already spent hours in it! I may move it to my bedroom, so I can “hang out” right before bedtime. This is the greatest Valentine’s gift I have ever received!
I was enjoying the nice evening in my Pawleys Island rope hammock, when I was graced with the presence of my teenage son. He plopped in the other side and we had a nice chat.
I’ve learned you have to enjoy these moments teenagers bless you with.. But when it was time to get out, he just rolled out of it, well, halfway out, and says, “Mom, help”! Turns out he still needs his mother, after all!
This was a happy Easter day for me! It started with sunrise service at 6am. It was a beautiful morning, even if it was a bit cold. Then a wonderful, long-overdue run on the rail trail to birds singing and sunshine!
Then a nice afternoon meal with my loving family and mother. I bought my Mom a beautiful small Byer of Maine Brazilian hammock this year, hoping she will rest in between working like a crazy woman in her garden this spring and summer!
This summer I’m trying to get up early and go outside to run or walk before it’s too hot! I tell myself, “just get up, then you can have an afternoon nap in your cool Byer of Maine hammock in the shade”. It usually works, and starts my day off “on the right foot”!
This am I walked out of my bedroom onto the balcony, and I was so happy to hear the songbirds! There were five birds very close in a tree, one of them a robin. I am so thrilled to hear them singing! I miss them when they fly south, it is so quiet.
Now, the mornings are alive with song and chattering, and I will listen to them every morning for the next six months or more. I enjoy sitting in my Bliss Hammocks hammock chair from above the yard, while I watch the morning activity. It gives me such a happy feeling. I am so thrilled that spring is here!
Like most of the country I feel that I have to be careful with what I spend my money on. I do more research to find the best price and I clip coupons for groceries (but have never saved as much as the TV show).
I am always looking for cheap entertainment for the family. I found board games are a very reasonably priced and you can’t beat the cost of the streaming cost of Netflix. Recently I found a single person Bliss Hammocks hammock online for under 40 dollars. Wow how can you beat that price. That will bring hours of summer fun for the family!
We had a wonderful family day today, and it makes my heart happy. We had a great home cooked meal after church, a big pot of vegetable soup I made yesterday, with a nice salad, and warm bread. A perfect soup day it was! Then we ended up eating more for dinner, but made hot roast beef sandwiches with it, as I saved some form the soup making.
We had DVR’d some Christmas shows that we missed during the week, we broke out the Algoma Hammocks butterfly chairs, and we caught up on them. We also made popcorn, lots of popcorn, we love it, and even played a game of UNO. It was a nice family day. Nothing fancy, just simple, happy times, the best!
“People are as happy as they make their minds up to be”, a quote by Abraham Lincoln, that I especially like. Once we realize this is true, it is a “lightbulb” moment for us! We actually have control over our happiness! When we realize we are in an unhappy state, we can decide that we are going to, and want to, be happy. This helps us to shift our consciousness to create happiness.
Being happy goes hand in hand with being healthy. Start expecting happiness as part of who you are. Expect good things and happy times, be grateful for all the good things, and start being aware of all the more good things that start happening. It’s a wonderful cycle to start! I like to reflect, daily, as I take my relaxing time in my quilted hammock, on all the blessings I had that day. I honestly can say that, the more appreciative I am of my blessings, the more blessings I receive. Try it!
