I have the most comfortable “bed” in the house, and from it, the perfect view of our Christmas tree! We have brought our hammock arc stand inside and I am enjoying my quilted hammock immensely! I happen to have a large room with no other furniture at the moment.
I asked my husband to bring in the hammock chair and stand, so he brings in the hammock with stand too! Well, maybe it was a misunderstanding that was meant to be! However, this may be staying as a permanent addition. I sure enjoy winding down before bedtime listening to Christmas music and looking at the tree lights!
I am definitely getting in the swing of Christmas this year simply by “swinging” in my hammock swing right next to the Christmas tree! I have spent more time just sitting and enjoying this tree than I may have ever before! That is because this is the first year I had my comfortable hammock chair brought in from the patio for the fall and winter!
I let my two boys decorate the tree this year. It was fun watching them find their old ornaments that had been packed away for a few years. We have a new, large room on the house and have space for a big tree now! Some ornaments they made in kindergarten, cub scouts, etc. I have enjoyed sitting and looking and remembering. The happy family memories in our lives are worth more than any present we could ever put under the tree.
You have probably heard one of my favorite Christmas songs. It says “let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me”. This means we need to take care of ourselves first so that we feel good and peaceful. Let’s make a vow this morning to ourselves that we will take a short break each day for ourselves.
If we are lucky enough to have a hanging hammock chair or a comfortable piece of furniture, let’s use it! The most important thing is caring about ourselves enough to make it a priority! We are worth it! “Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now”.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know. Where the tree tops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow…you’ve heard the song, I’m sure.
One of my favorite memories of childhood is the candy cane! I know you can get mints all year, but there is just something about the candy cane that makes it taste better and you can only get them at Christmastime! My new quilted hammock reminds me of a candy cane! But the nice part is that I will use it all year!
This is such a busy time of year, the holiday season. I was in a store yesterday and I was just watching and listening to people. They talked about the lights, the tree, etc, etc. They didn’t appear to be enjoying themselves at all. They had stressed looks on their faces and no smiles.
I thought, this is supposed to be a joyful time to celebrate what the season means to us. But instead, we are running around like chickens. This is when we truly need to take at least a little time each day to make ourselves relax! The best way for me is to lay down in my quilted hammock. It is cold where I live but I made a place in the family room to destress on a daily basis!
This is the middle of hunting season for many. Perhaps you have a tree stand to use to get a great view below. Maybe you don’t and you just have to find a tree stump or a rock if you want to sit down. That’s a bit cold in some areas! Are you looking for a new way to hunt while sitting?
The Green Eggs & Hammocks trailer hitch stand may be what you’ve been looking for. It fits on your trailer hitch and holds one or two hammock chairs. This will work well if you can drive in to wear you hunt. If not, this works well hanging out and telling “deer stories”! Experience a modern way to hunt! The other guys might laugh but they will be secretly jealous they have to sit on a cold rock! Now, who’s laughing?
Is the special man in your life an outdoor enthusiast? Does he get up in the wee hours of the morning to get out to his favorite hunting spot? Do you roll over in your warm bed and think he must be crazy? Perhaps you are searching for the perfect gift for him this year. After all, he does help clean the house!
A tripod hammock chair stand is a metal stand that is portable. The legs are telescoping to stand seven and a half feet high when extended, yet close down to four feet to fit in its own carry bag! The best part is that it only weighs ten pounds! All you need is a hammock chair to hang on it, maybe one with a footrest, and he will be the most comfortable hunter in the woods!
This is the time of year where we often have extra guests in our home temporarily. It is a wonderful time to see our friends and loved ones who we may not get to spend time with throughout the year. The holidays bring people’s hearts home.
When we are blessed enough to have these visitors, the Algoma Hammocks Sport Couch can be a very handy extra seat for two, more if they are children. It comes in green, red, blue, and black. It easily stores in the back of your closet or the garage when not in use. It can double as a sports couch for the sporting events or any time that a travel couch is needed!
Sunday is our family day in my home. We set this day of the week aside to spend special time with our children. We cannot work, unless it is beautifying our home, all together, but no computer work, paperwork, house projects, etc. Sometimes this is hard because we feel busy, but just making this day special gives us, Mom and Dad, a break, but also makes our kids feel important.
Today, we hung out at home, ate lasagna, cleaned a little bit, then went to the movies this afternoon. We also decided to bring our big Brazilian hammock, called the Gigante Hammock, in our house because it is too cold to stay outside and we all like to pile in it for reading, etc. We have had some special times doing this. We have picked a spot in our “fort” above our garage. We are going to insulate this room and put heat up there. There are some big beams we can hang it from. I am so excited!
