Wow, was it ever hot, hot, hot today! On top of that, it was humid! I was not able to spend very much time outside today. I just got the patio and are under the trees fully “stocked” with hammocks and hammock chairs. Now, it is too hot to be outside.
Probably, the problem is that it came too quick, and I hope it goes away for a while. I love summer, but the steamy heat can be a bit tiring. I did enjoy a short siesta in my OBX hammocks rope hammock. The breeze, although hot, was still nice as it blew up under me through the open weave in the rope.
Memorial weekend is the true start of summer, even though Summer Solstice is next month. It is the time the pools open and people are in full swing doing summer activities, like planting flowers and gardens, and having cookouts, going to the beach, and the list of fun summer activities goes on and on.
I am so happy I got all of my planting, mulching, and getting the patio ready, last weekend. So, this weekend, which is hotter, I can just enjoy! I spent all day outdoors, in the back yard, hopping from hammock chair to hammock, reading and relaxing! I finished a great day off with a fun bike ride, including dinner at a little Italian restaurant, with hubby.
Rain, rain, go away! After a stretch of beautiful weather, which was wonderful for planting flowers and doing all the outdoor work I did over the weekend, but now it has rained for three days! I took my big hammock outside Sunday evening and laid on it looking at the stars, and it has been wet ever since!
Oh well, it will be nice for the plants that were just put in the ground. I can’t wait for the sun to come out and dry everything out. I am spending some time reading in the hammock chair stand, listening to the rain outside, glad I am warm and dry!
I love when I get assigned video projects for school. My boyfriend’s addition on his house recently became finished, so I decided to film there. His Mom put a quilted hammock in there and it is big enough for four people!
Everyone wanted to hang out on the hammock! Now, whenever we take a vote on where to film, everyone wants to go to “the hammock house”, as they call it! Funny!
Well, it was another “all day affair” for me today! I discovered the awesomeness and addiction of a power washer! I can’t believe we have never had one before! It makes the work so much easier. But, oh my, once you start, it is impossible to stop! I went from one thing to the next, first the patio, then the back of the house, of course, then onto the deck, and the balcony.
Then my husband did the front porch. He said I was “obsessed” with it and had to take it away! I made my patio look so nice and cleared a large space to take the hammock stand out there, from the great room, in the house. Now, I am going to go slip out there and lay down in it to just look at the stars, not to mention, I am exhausted!
Today was a perfect day! The weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny and warm, with the perfect amount of breeze. I spent the day potting pots for the front porch, balcony, and patio. This year I potted 23 pots! First, I miscalculated the flowers, then had to drive to the greenhouse.
Next, I ran out of potting soil! Oh, no! Seriously? I was loving my project but not when it turned into what I call an ” all day affair”! It was worth it, though, to see my finished, beautiful pots sitting around making everything look prettier. It was a great day, but now I must say, I am tired! I am now resting in my new Outer Banks Hammocks rope hammock, it is a beautiful terra cotta rope. Now resting up for tomorrow, power washing!
I love sitting in my hammock chair! Sitting out and swinging gives me the inspiration I sometimes need.
At first, taking art was challenging. I just didn’t seem to have the creativity everyone else had. But I started hanging out in my swinging hammock chair and ideas just seem to come left and right!
What a fun way to relax! Believe me, you will have a very unique and modern hammock chair with this Outback Chair Company Urban Balance Cove. Some people call it an “egg chair”. It reminds me of a bird’s nest, probably because I love birds.
But the feel of relaxation, while snuggled up in this cove, is amazing! I could just retreat to my “nest” for several hours at a time, taking a book along, or my iPod, to listen to some of my favorite music!
Today is the day to honor our Mothers and the Mothers of our children. A special day set aside to honor them and make them feel special! To get them a special gift or take them for a nice meal. One thing is for sure, no Mother should ever have to cook on Mother’s Day!
But, why only one day they get a year? These selfless women, mothers and wives, should have Happy Mother’s Week! I intend to help my wife and the mother of our children have a relaxing and wonderful day! I am cooking at the lake house because she despises crowds. Then I am going to take her for a ride in the boat or walk around the lake with her. But she is definitely going to have some time to herself in her folding hammock that she likes toting around with her!
I’m here in Ocean City for my birthday and it is so beautiful here! It’s a little stormy, but that just makes the ocean look more great!
The way the storm clouds, waves, and sand mixes together reminds me of my Mom’s quilted hammock. The colors are absolutely amazing! It’s like my own little peaceful serenity.
