Goodbye February
Goodbye to you, February. I am sorry to be honest, but I am just not going to miss you. I am not a fan of your short days, the wind, snow, and cold that you bring.
I understand you have a special spot in the calendar. But I need to move on to longer days with more light, warmer temperatures, and spring! I want to put a beautiful, bright, striped Brazilian hammock under my old maple trees, so I bid you farewell..until next year.
This is getting close to my kind of weather. That is when it hits the 50’s as it did today.
I am planning on spending Saturday outside, soaking up some much needed nature! I will be spending the day hiking, locally, close to home. I am taking one of my backpacking hammocks for the rest period!
The family and I went to the movies tonight. We saw Identity Thief. It was funny and entertaining.
But it was raining and blowing sideways when we came out! Oh my goodness, I could not wait to get home and cozy up in my hanging hammock chair and get warm in front of the fireplace.
I love the day when I see the first robin each spring! I am expecting it any day now.
But I am always pushing the season at the end of winter. I tried, I really did, but I just have trouble liking winter! Now, I am just over it and ready to move on to getting my Mayan hammock in my favorite tree!
The sun came out today! It always makes me feel like it is warm out if the sun is out. So, I went outside…still cold, and windy too.
But, there are only four days of February left. I know I am getting closer to hanging a hammock chair in the tree and looking for the first robin!
I heard birds singing this morning! I don’t think I usually hear birds in the winter, do I? It looked like a little chickadee, I’m not sure?
I really enjoy birds but I am not a serious “birder”! I saw this little bird flitting around the yard, chirping, then he landed on my poor, empty wooden hammock stand! I am hoping this is a sign of an early spring..?
I did not get a fausnaught until 9pm tonight! A quick family stop into Dunkin Donuts after the movie, on our Tuesday Night movie night.
That is our fun, winter thing we do. But now I feel like a fat cat curled up in my hammock!
Here it is Superbowl Sunday already! I love this day! Whether it is a team I follow, or not, I enjoy the friends coming over, the excitement, and, you guessed it…the goodies! Yes, I love the party of it all!
This year, we all have our own Algoma Hammocks butterfly chair. By the end of the game, everyone will have their chairs right up in front of the TV, and it will be loud! But It should be a fun night, starting…now!
