There was still snow on the ground, though, but luckily, it was gone by the end of this sunny day. The spot where my quilted hammock hangs, however, is a huge puddle, so I will wait for that to dry up…hopefully, soon!
I have always been amused by that saying, ever since I was little. How odd of an image it conjures! I am just thankful to be staying in my warm and dry house all day today, as it is a cold, wet day. It is pouring outside my windows!
I am even skipping church this morning, God forgive me, but I will catch the service on line this afternoon. I will watch it on my iPad, from my indoor swinging hammock chair, by my window. Thank God for modern technology!
If you are struggling to achieve a desired result in a situation, it could be that you are trying to force the issue. Instead, sit back, preferably in a hammock chair, and accept whatever happens.
That which is rightly yours will come to you in the perfect time and sequence. Nothing takes place before its designated time.
If that is true, they picked a bad winter to hang around up here! We had record-breaking low temps and lots of snow. Seeing that robin today brings me hope of getting out my rope hammock in the near future!
If you live in an apartment and do not have a backyard, you might feel like you are missing out on enjoying the outdoors life. Well I found a friend that has an apartment with a balcony big enough to hold a hammock stand. And guess what she does on sunny days when she comes home from a hard days work?
Yep, she grabs the book that she is currently reading, and she heads straight for the balcony and lays in the sun reading. And when she feels that she has had enough sun she attaches an umbrella to the hammock stand and keeps the sun off of her.
This am I walked out of my bedroom onto the balcony, and I was so happy to hear the songbirds! There were five birds very close in a tree, one of them a robin. I am so thrilled to hear them singing! I miss them when they fly south, it is so quiet.
Now, the mornings are alive with song and chattering, and I will listen to them every morning for the next six months or more. I enjoy sitting in my Bliss Hammocks hammock chair from above the yard, while I watch the morning activity. It gives me such a happy feeling. I am so thrilled that spring is here!
Now that I am married and have children I like to write about my college days, when the biggest worry I had was an up coming exam. I took a trip to Europe while I was in college because at the time it was important to see the world!
I didn’t have very much money, of course, but it was a great vacation. Everything that I needed was carried in my backpack, including one of my trusty travel hammocks, that I still have to this day (but hardly ever use it). Don’t get me wrong I love my wife and kids but I don’t see anything wrong with going down memory lane.
I recently started doing arts and crafts projects and find that as long as I can do this at my own pace in my spare time it is fun. I have always been more of a technical kind of person, so arts and crafts is not my first spare time thing to do.
After making a crocheted blanket I was surprised to find that I could make a macrame hammock. By working on this project I would be taking care of 2 things that I need to spend more time doing: craft projects and making the backyard more user friendly!
Happy Spring! I have a group of girlfriends that I celebrate the new season with four times every year, being it Solstice or Equinox. Regardless, we call each other the Solstice Sisters. We always have lunch, exchange a small gift, then we usually end up at a winery for a tasting, then sitting around sipping wine, laughing, and talking.
These days are so good for the soul! I laughed so hard today, my abdomen hurt! We went to a wonderful Mexican restaurant for lunch, then to a winery far in the country. What a beautiful setting with the barn, which was the actual winery, against the fields, with flowering trees nearby. I got home an hour before dusk, and in the spirit of the day, I took a little siesta in my Mayan hammock, while recalling the fun events of the day!
Today was the last day of winter! I am always happy to see it go but I haven’t been this happy, to see it go, in years! Spring brings hope and new life…and warmer weather! Now, that’s what I am talking about!
This cold, snowy, windy, freeze-you-to-the bone weather can go take a long rest, for about ten months! I will be too busy getting my patio cleaned up and ready for my macrame hammock to give it one thought.
