My latest project is organizing all of my CD’s. Wow! I have a lot of them, all over the house, car, and all different kinds of music. Some of them, I am like, “who is that”? But, I bought them at one time! So, I have been having fun getting reacquainted with some of my old music. It gets a bit tedious and I just have to get away from from it for a short time. That is when I take a break and lay in my Brazilian hammock in my den and listen to a whole CD. When it’s over, it’s time to get back to work.
Since I have made the decision to hike a small portion of the Appalachian Trail, I have been doing a little research. One of the most photographed spots on this trail is McAfee Knob. It’s a beautiful outlook spot in Virginia. On a clear day, you can have a wonderful view of the Shenendoah Valley.
I see there is a grassy meadow for camp sites nearby, but that would not help if each we had portable hammock, rather than a tent? So, more research is definitely required.
I told my hiking buddy I made a goal this year, and it includes her! “Uh oh”,she said! I told her I want to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail this year. “Okay”, she says. But here’s the clincher…it includes an overnight! Yikes! That might be scary?!
But, she’s in! That’s why I love my hiking buddy! So, of course we will have to prepare and do our homework. We also need to decide…do we want to sleep in a tent or in camping hammocks?
I am thinking about hiking the Appalachian Trail, well, part of it, as I don’t have the luxury to take a four moth hike, nor am I sure I would want to? I would miss my family too much! But, maybe someday? Who knows?
I’m not sure if I am rugged enough? I love the beauty of the outdoors, but would I love sleeping in it? I have camped before, using one of our backpacking hammocks, with my husband. But it seems a little more rugged when you are completely on foot, no vehicle to hop in for whatever reason?
I am often amazed how music never really dies or goes out of style. For instance, I will hear a song on the radio and realize, “well that’s from the year I was born”! I assume it helps to keep the music alive with the satellite radio today and the 40’s-90’s stations they have.
So, I was recently at a flea market and found this CD, America Greatest Hits, it was brand new and $2! I thought I only knew of one hit of theirs, A Horse With No Name, but then I discovered they had a lot of hits! So, I am truly enjoying relaxing in my hammock chair, listening to this old music, and definitely getting my $2 worth!
Apparently, it’s rainy or cloudy where he is, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. So, this means he will not see his shadow and get scared, then run back in hole to hide for six more weeks! So,maybe this means an early spring and I can start dreaming of getting out one of my travel hammocks sooner!
I hate to admit this but I don’t even know who is playing in the Superbowl this year! It’s the truth. I am not at all interested in sports…but I do like the snacks, and the half time! The rest of the time I usually read while my family watches the game, everyone sitting in their own Algoma Hammocks butterfly chair.
This year, one thing I am making is a simple, healthy gaucamole! Here is the recipe:
