Happy Easter 2016
Well I hope everyone had a nice Easter day, spent the way you like to spend Easter. For me, it was a day of coffee and candy for breakfast, because, hey, it is Easter, and there is all this candy around!
Then morning church, then an afternoon with family for an nice meal, then, of course, more candy! The Easter bunny did not bring me the new cacoon hanging tree tent as I had hoped (cheapskate!), but hopefully I will get lucky for Mother’s Day!
I made it to the Washington, D.C. cherry blossom festival again this year! A far cry from last year, when we had sunny, warm weather. Today was cold and windy! But I decided to make the trek, because, hey, they only bloom once a year!
They are a beautiful site to see, in any weather. When I go there, I am amazed by the beauty and I just dream of how awesome it would be to hang a mayan hammock chair from one of the cherry tree branches, under the canopy of those beautiful, pink blossoms!
Spring has sprung! I love that saying! However, it doesn’t look or feel much like spring at my house? It is cold, windy, and there have even been a few snow flurries! That is typical, though, for March, and I am just happy and hopeful for better days in the near future!
I am still celebrating the arrival of the spring equinox by hanging out my hammock chair on my patio. I am bundled up and drinking a hot cup of tea…but I am sitting on my patio on the first day of spring!
Freaky Friday is one of my favorite movies! Today was a Freaky Friday, but not in the way of the movie, but in the way of the weather! First it was cloudy, then sunny, then windy, then still, then gusty.
It was a great day for a hike around the lake. The trees are still bare, so the views of the water are still beautiful. I wonder if anyone would mind if I just hung up one of my travel hammocks with a pair of hammock straps, overlooking the lake!
I love this time of year, when every day you start seeing new life of some sort. This morning, when I looked out the back window, I saw the tulips are popping out!
It seems like it won’t be long until I am lounging in my quilted hammock in the back yard. I like a quilted hammock in early spring because it keeps you warmer…I am willing to use a blanket also, if necessary!
Today, the weather was absolutely beautiful, and do you know what I like to do in beautiful weather? I like to ride my bike! This was my first bike ride this year and it was awesome! My girlfriend, who has developed a love of bike riding also, thanks to me, came along.
We rode into the local market and had a delicious lunch. Then we bought some fresh produce and rode back, reveling in the sunshine. I am now sitting here, in my hammock chair stand, on my patio, eating a fresh apple! I treasure days like this!
Continuing on with the theme of using hammocks in the house all year long, is a way to use your travel hammock in the house. You can actually just hang it from a hook in the ceiling or a door frame.
You hang both ends from that hook and, there, you have it…a hammock chair! But this hammock chair can be taken down in a minute, and taken on your camping trip, or used in your backyard!
This is one of those old sayings that always stuck with me. It’s funny how sayings started a long time ago, with our ancestors. In my area, March started like a lion, with snow, rain, and wind. So, I hope that means it will go out like a lamb, with an early spring.
March is what I call a tricky month, so many variations in the weather. I always think the seasons are struggling to have a hold. Old Man Winter wants more power and the Spring Goddess says, “move over, it’s my turn”! I just look forward to putting my arc hammock stand out in the yard this month…I hope!
