When you feel uptight or upset, and know that you just need to relax, a very simple and quick way to do this is to sip some green tea. It is an herbal tea, so there is no caffeine to get you revved up. It contains L-Thanine, which is a chemical that actually helps to relieve anger.
Take your nice cup of tea to your favorite spot to sit, possibly a knotted hammock chair. Sit carefully, you don’t need a burn, then sip slowly, just feeling yourself calming down and relaxing immediately. Tell yourself you will at least sit here until your tea cup is empty, and longer, if possible. Now, give yourself a pat for taking care of you!
Here again to talk about relaxing! Of course, I will start out by saying that an obvious way to relax is to plop down in a hammock and take a nap. But there are also hammock chairs, which are just as cozy, and work better in certain situations.
For example, you live in an apartment, have no yard, but you do have a balcony, and love being outside. Hang a hammock chair out there! You will love yourself for it!
Any one of them would be thrilled to just a fly a kite! I was actually able to catch a short swing in a swinging hammock chair on the porch of the kite loft while watching a few kite competitions!
After the tragic events of the Boston Marathon yesterday, it is hard not to feel fear and loss of hope in humanity. But let’s rejoice in the bravery of the responders and everyone who jumped in to help those injured. Some runners ran to the hospital to donate blood. Bostonians are offering their homes to strangers that need a place to stay. Love is very much alive in this country. Let us remember that a few dirty drops of water do not spoil a whole ocean.
Let us send them prayers and positive hopes for recovery. My thoughts and prayers have been constantly with our brothers and sisters involved in this tragedy. I have spent the last hour in my hammock chair in prayer. Now I will go for a run to honor all of these people.
What on earth is that whistling noise? Oh, no, they are putting a warning across the TV for severe thunderstorms!
It’s always a bit scary to me, especially at night. What if a tornado would come at night while we are sleeping? Of course, all of us being safe is the most important thing. But I want all of my hammock swings to be safe too!
Okay, yesterday was a very nice day. I enjoyed my family and the time we shared together. I also enjoyed the food! Yum! However, the food has settled and now I am just feeling like I have a food hangover!
In fact, I’m afraid that my knotted hammock chair is going to stretch to the ground today! I absolutely have to get out and get some exercise later today. It should be a good day to try to get to get rid of this sluggish feeling, and I am definitely going to be eating some leafy greens today!
Often, this day, I find to be dreary and dismal, but today is beautiful! So is my mood! I am going to enjoy some outdoor time, running or biking, then I will definitely spend a little time in my hammock chair!
I am so excited this morning to be leaving for the “Big Apple”, aka New York City! I am meeting one of my dearest friends that moved away last year. We keep in touch on a regular basis, but I just miss the girlfriend time of being together, instead of telephone visits.
We always had fun just doing “whatever”, shopping, going to lunch, getting manicures and pedicures together, or going to the movies. Sometimes she would just come visit and we would sit in my hammock swings out in the back yard and just chat for hours! I can’t wait to bring spring in with her in NYC for a few days !
Aha, I remember now…the other side of daylight savings time. It is dark in the morning again. I am up, ready for a run, but it is dark out there. I forgot about the very slight downside to daylight savings time.
Oh, well, now I can have a cup of coffee in my swinging hammock chair, saying a few prayers for the day. Thinking of my family, especially my youngest teenager, who has testing today, praying he does well so that he can take the elective classes he wants to, next year, in his first year of high school. Did I have this much pressure as an eighth grader?
The beautiful weather we had today gave me a case of spring fever! It was so nice and sunny and warm! Even the air smelled like spring? I’m not sure why, there were no flowers blooming yet! I think it was in my head.
Regardless, it was a perfect day to get one of my hammock swings out and hang it up under the deck. I am starting the countdown now…11 days until spring!
