It is September now, so bring on the perfect days of temperatures in the 70’s, no humidity, and clear skies!I want to hang out in my quilted hammock and be able to enjoy it, feeling the sun on me, without sweltering in it. So, it is with happiness in my heart that I say goodbye to those “dog days of summer”!
Then…well, I am not sure what to blame it on. Maybe the weather? But, here, I am, weeding again! Yuk! The weeds are “thick as theives” too. Then, I will be mulching immediately this time! I hope I learned a lessson and do not repeat this next year. Later, this evening, as I lay resting in my Mayan hammock, exhausted, no doubt, I am going to write this is my garden journal. I just keep practicing at this!
We have lost our sweet little Bandit, a dear member of our family, and it has been a very rough week. Today, I just needed to lay in my quilted hammock and cry. This is a special picture of Bandit enjoying it with me last summer.
It is fun to see a few crocuses coming up that I didn’t plant! Maybe a squirrel was helping? I can’t wait to get it all cleaned up, then rest in my Algoma Hammocks hammock and admire my hard, but enjoyable, work.
Monday mornings are nice when I am off work, the family is gone to work and school, and I have the house to myself, and the whole day before me. I like to call Monday my “domestics day”. It has become a habit.
I change all the sheets, dust, vacuum, clean the bathrooms and the kitchen. Meanwhile, I make dinner, usually in the crock pot so I can do it in the morning. This afternoon, I need to make time for a nice long run on the trail. Then, after all that, and I have had my hot shower, I need some relaxation time in my OBX Hammocks rope hammock on the patio!
I know sunbathing is not recommended, but I can’t resist a little bit of it now and then. After all, isn’t Vitamin D healthy for you? It sure feels wonderful on a perfect, sunny day.
This summer, I am realizing the benefits of sunbathing in a rope hammock, because the air can circulate under and around you, even with a slight breeze. There were just the perfect amount of puffy clouds in the beautiful blue sky too! What a wonderful siesta I had! Zzzz…
I wanted to catch a few rays of sun today, however, it was very hot! I decided to spend a short time in my hammock, out in the sun, then hop in the pool when I got hot. What an easy, relaxing day.
I realized, more than ever, today just how cool a rope hammock is in the summer heat, especially if there is any breeze at all. There was a nice breeze blowing up right under me and keeping me cool! It was great! I am loving summer in my rope hammock!
Today was what I call a Blissful day! A Bliss Hammocks kind of day, that is! Gorgeous weather, not to hot, not too cold, with beautiful sunshine, just perfect!
I was able to do a little gardening this morning, then this afternoon, take a nice rest in my Bliss Hammocks Brazilian hammock. It was great to catch up on some reading I have been wanting to do.
Today was a perfect day! The weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny and warm, with the perfect amount of breeze. I spent the day potting pots for the front porch, balcony, and patio. This year I potted 23 pots! First, I miscalculated the flowers, then had to drive to the greenhouse.
Next, I ran out of potting soil! Oh, no! Seriously? I was loving my project but not when it turned into what I call an ” all day affair”! It was worth it, though, to see my finished, beautiful pots sitting around making everything look prettier. It was a great day, but now I must say, I am tired! I am now resting in my new Outer Banks Hammocks rope hammock, it is a beautiful terra cotta rope. Now resting up for tomorrow, power washing!
