We are doing the dreaded job of putting a fresh coat of stain on the patio this spring. We always want to, then the leaves pop out so quickly it is a futile attempt, as the breeze blows around all the the new leaf buds on the patio before it dries!
This year we got one nice coat on, but wanted to do another, when the leaves popped. Now, the wooden hammock stand is sitting bare in the yard, waiting for us to finish our project so that it can have its special place on the patio!
The forsythia is bright yellow, the cherry tree is budding pink, and the maple trees are budding out with bright green leaves! Not to mention the birds flying around everywhere! It is time to break out the hammock stand and hang up my favorite hammock, just to be right in the middle of all this beauty!
I prematurely hung one of my rope hammocks in the tree, and now it’s covered with snow! I am glad the hammock stand is still safe under cover!
I really enjoy birds but I am not a serious “birder”! I saw this little bird flitting around the yard, chirping, then he landed on my poor, empty wooden hammock stand! I am hoping this is a sign of an early spring..?
I plant several varieties of thyme around my sun dial, pun intended. My Mother taught me that when I first started gardening. Now, I continue that every year, as most come back, but occasionally I replace one. I place my hammock stand very close by so that I can see it and smell it from my hammock.
I always enjoyed plants and flowers, also trees. In fact when I was growing up, my parents had a sun room that had planters the whole way around the room. As a child, I learned all of the names of the house plants. It has been a love I kept for my the rest of my life.
It has been a long winter. More snow than I cared for, too cold, and not enough daylight. I love the extra hours of light we get in the spring and summer. I love the way each day in the spring, you see more colors; greens, pinks, purple, white, and yellow! It is the time when we look forward to working in our gardens and our yards; planting, weeding, and mulching.
I like to talk about different ways to beautify our yards and outdoor spaces, like decks and patios, making them more comfortable and more beautiful so they bring us peace and happiness! Because home truly is where the heart is. They are our safe havens. Anything we do to make them more enjoyable is an investment in our health, happiness, and our futures! For example, a great way to enjoy our back yard or patio is to add a hammock stand with a beautiful hammock. Make sure you love the way the hammock looks because every time you see it, it will bring you a moment of happiness!
When most people think of a hammock, they typically picture it for outdoors. But did you know you don’t have to give up your favorite outdoor furniture piece when the weather gets cold?
You can bring it in! Possibly, you have a family room in the basement. You just never thought about it, but a hammock in a hammock stand would be perfect off in the corner where you can see the fireplace! Now you can snuggle up and read!
